X-Fest 2011
With a lineup that included Weezer, Social Distortion and Jane’s Addiction, anticipation was huge when X-fest kicked off on August 20th. The day was hot with the sun beating down on the East end of Fort Calgary as 13,000 fans gathered. Navigating the photo pit was tricky at times with a dozen photographers and at least as many security all vying for position. Overall, I had a great time shooting each set. Hopefully, the event returns for another run next year.
Below are some of my images starting with Calgary’s The Dudes. AWOLNATION was followed by legendary House of Pain and Social Distortion. Weezer rocked out before headliners Jane’s Addiction.
